What I’ve Learned as Production Manager at Glasshouse

When I stepped into the role of Production Manager at Glasshouse, I didn’t know exactly what I was signing up for — and that’s exactly why I did it.
At first, it was about helping run a space for creatives. But quickly, I realized it was about managing energy, people, time, and trust. Here's what I’ve learned so far:
Creativity needs structure. If you want to make art consistently, you need systems. Booking, time slots, gear checklists, calendars — these things don’t kill the vibe, they protect it.
Artists don’t always know what they need. And that’s okay. My job became reading the room, offering suggestions, or sometimes just giving space. Some people come to record. Others come to heal.
The studio is sacred. It’s not just a room. It’s where confessions are made, dreams are tested, and magic is captured. I treat every session like it could be somebody’s breakthrough.
Leadership means service. My job is to keep the machine running without killing the magic. It’s not about control — it’s about care.
Glasshouse gave me a new perspective. Ty Knight the artist still thrives, but now Ty Knight the facilitator gets to lift others up too.
